Our Top 5 places for Breakfast in East Devon
It seems to be a getting more and more popular to go out for breakfast/brunch so we thought we’d put together our 5 favourite East Devon Breakfast places.
We are lucky enough to have several local eateries that serve delicious breakfasts.
The Grazing Cow
First on the list has got to be The Grazing Cow at Offwell. Situated on the A35 it is also a good stop off when travelling to or from Odle Farm on that road?
Start the day right with a full English breakfast, a breakfast bap or even porridge.
All food is home-cooked and locally sourced in Devon.
Open daily from 9am until 4pm (3pm on a Sunday) for breakfast, light lunches and coffee and cake.
Otter Valley Field Kitchen
Next on our list is The Otter Valley Field Kitchen, less than 10 minutes drive from Odle Farm and the one to head to for if you want a breakfast with a view!
Many of you that have stayed with us before will already know they make the best ice cream ever in many flavours.
The field kitchen serves breakfast from 9am to 11.30am, bacon sandwiches, fruit granola, or the full English breakfast are just a few of the options available.
Visit throughout the day for coffee and cake, waffles and ice cream as well as pizzas and light lunches.
Please note that the Otter Valley Field Kitchen is closed on Mondays.
The Kitchen at Combe
The new Combe Garden centre in Honiton is a must-visit for the gardeners amongst you but the Kitchen at Combe Garden centre will be a hit for all members of the family……. gardeners or not!
From a full Devon breakfast to porridge there is a breakfast to suit all tastes.
I can personally vouch for the lunches and cakes too ….., you definitely won’t leave hungry!
I know it isn’t breakfast, and it is a bit early, but the Christmas displays are starting to appear everywhere. The display in the Combe garden centre is impressive, I’m sure you’ll agree. Santa’s grotto is going to be inside the train! There are several little boys that stay at Odle Farm that I’m sure would love this!
You could even get some Christmas shopping done in the shop while you are there?
Toast Cafe and Patisserie
Back to Food!
Toast in Honiton town centre is aptly named for breakfast.
Locally sourced food for a delicious breakfast in comfortable surroundings.
A lovely cottage garden to eat alfresco during the warmer months, and they supply blankets if you’d like to enjoy the fresh air in the cooler seasons.
The cafe is open daily – 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30 am to 4pm on Sundays.
Want to venture a bit further afield?
The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth
The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, about 20 minutes away from Odle Farm, has just launched a Sunday brunch menu, what better way to spend a relaxing Sunday, a stunning view, donkeys and scrummy food.
You could try their American style pancake stack with Honey and thyme figs, toasted walnuts and honey drizzle…….or maybe you’d prefer banana and salted caramel?
They certainly have some different options and serve brunch on Sundays from 11am to 3pm, plenty of time to for a walk along the coast path before or after eating.
Breakfast is available from 9am to 10.45am every other day of the week followed by a colourful menu of meals, cakes and light lunches for the rest of the day.
